Interview : Meet the artist behind Birch Berry Farms

Renee is the artist behind Birch Berry Farms .
Her style is exquisitely unique and very much her own .
It is primitive, whimsical, refreshing and just extremely beautiful .
On her blog ( http://birchberryfarms.blogspot.com/ ) one can tell the passion that Renee
puts into all of her creations .
I asked Renee three questions and these are her responses in her own words .

What would you like others to know of you and your art ?
When I create something, it usually is in my head for a while---milling around until I get it right where I want it---then I put it together---and it is NEVER really what it started to be, back when it was in my head . That typically is like how I am in person---all over the page---like a scribble mark---in between the lines scribble mark .

What advice would you give to another artist ?
I wouldn't give any and only because my art is my own----I respect that other peoples art is their own too----even if they asked me for advice about a particular piece that they are working on---I would still say that I wouldn't do that because then they would feel that their piece was wrong or just wasn't right because I thought it should be this way or maybe that way---ya know what I mean?

Were can others find your art work or get to know more about you?
On my Blog---http://birchberryfarms.blogspot.com/ It has all of my links to where I am selling and all of my information about me---

Art is my diary of my life and my loves./S.L.Jetton

Interview : Meet the artist behind Rusty Creek Primitives

Brenda is the artist behind Rusty Creek Primitives .
Her gorgeous designs of whimsical dolls and primitive items have a unique quality
and style all their own.
On her blog ( http://rustycreekprimitives.blogspot.com/ ) Brenda describes herself as a
self taught artist that has a passion for working with textiles, paint and also paper clay.
I personally enjoy the inventive way Brenda can make the eyes of her creations
look so happy and joyful.
I asked Brenda three questions and these are her responses in her own words.

What would you like others to know of you and your art ?
I am the type of person who will find humor in anything.
I'm not saying I don't take life seriously but I do feel finding the humor in it
helps me get through Life .
I try to create dolls that evoke that same feeling when people see them in their whimsical, primitive form.
Life is hard enough....I believe finding the joy in it... is Heaven.

What advice would you give to another artist ?
Oh my....this will be me preaching to myself here.
It is important to stay focused on your goals.
You won't get anything out of it unless you are prepared to put in time and energy.
Be patient and keep working your plan...tweaking it along the way as you learn what's working and what's not working for you.
And while "working and tweaking" remember to enjoy what you are doing I believe this is the heart of a true artisan (carefree and creative).

I like working with paper.
There are so many different types of paper, but my favorite kind is Japanese chiyogami.
It is thicker than regular origami paper and feels more like cloth.

Were can others find your art work ?

I have an etsy shop called Little Pink Plum for my pocket mirrors,
but I also have a second etsy shop called Indigo Bay Designs.
I sell Japanese paper supplies and also my handcrafted pendants there.
I use all non toxic materials when I make my pendants.

What advice would you give to another artist ?

My advice to another artist: #1 - Do what you love, then it never feels like work.
#2 - And take great pictures if you are selling on the internet because that is what the buyer sees and that is your opportunity to make a great first impression.

Watercolor Of Trees

This is an original drawing/painting.
I have signed and dated the front of each piece.
The paintings were created using watercolors and color pencils.
The drawings measurements are from 2 t0 4 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall.
The sheet of paper that they are on are 9 by 12 inches each.
It is one sheet of Arches Watercolor paper, cold pressed,
100 % cotton, 140 lb and acid free.
The reason I did not cut the sheet of paper to a smaller size is,
if you have a picture frame that you like
but the size is odd you may cut the paper to fit it.
