A day at LACMA .

Had a great day yesterday at LACMA .

It too me 6 hrs but I saw all their galleries .

Their collection of art is amazing and 

I know that I could have spend 6 more hrs just in a daze.

Some time soon I would like to go back .

The Hive

on this painting I wanted to try something surreal .

I had fun and think it came out with that feeling. 

Because of the bees it looks like ideas going in and out .

The inspiration came out of this lady's I would see as a child 

on Sunday with hats that were outrageous .

One of them would always wear faux fruits 

another lady wore hats with birds .

I think this is a subject that I will be going back to paint from times to time .

Four New Frida Kahlo paintings

Decided to challenge my self

Decided to challenge my self .

I chose the painting, 

Girl with the pearl earring by Vermeer.

Stayed with in my stile but 

also his idea , I like the way she turned out.

She is only 5" by 5" on wood with acrylics.

Taking time off !!

I will be back in two weeks and 

will start to post more in here .

commission order

I am so very late with everything ,

messages , orders and of course life in general .

The photo up above is a commission order ,

to celebrate the life of a grandmother.

unfortunately the grandmother passed-away .

The family will be getting together for what 

would have been her birthday .

The order was commission by one of her grandsons .

the lady had 6 daughter and 

each will be given one of the dolls 

on her birthday.

first sketch in new book Lizzy

This was my first sketch in the new book .

I was thinking of a Lizzy Borden painting.

Recently I bought a low cost sketch book, 

nothing fancy .

I haven't been able to do any kind of art at home

 but had lots of time waiting for the bus or 

just waiting in one place or another.

This is my second sketch .

I do like sketching but I so miss using paint .
